California High School Softball - Village Christian bounces Faith Baptist
May 2, 2009: Canoga Park, CA 91304 The Village Christian Crusaders (Sun Valley, CA) softball routed the host Faith Baptist Contenders (Canoga Park, CA), 9-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Crusaders (19-4) will now prepare for their bout against Valley Christian (Cerritos, CA). The Crusaders enter the Olympic challenge with a 7-11 record. In their last challenge, Valley Christian beat Paraclete (Lancaster, CA), 11-4, in a league challenge.
With the loss, Faith Baptist falls to 6-11 on the campaign. The Contenders travel to Rosamond (Rosamond, CA) to battle the Roadrunners in a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 2. The Roadrunners enter the challenge with a record of 12-5. Rosamond lost 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Bishop (Bishop, CA)
Game Summary
Jenna Martin pitched the team's second no hitter of the day striking out 12. Martin and Seidel combined to strike out 41 of 45 possible outs in their teams 2 games at the Desert Classic. Seidel added a triple and 3 RBIs to her already impressive day. Jess Jones had a triple and Megan Merz added a double.
