Oregon High School Softball - Colton bounces Salem Academy
May 8, 2018: Colton, OR 97017 The Colton Vikings (Colton, OR) softball routed the visiting Salem Academy Crusaders (Salem, OR), 13-3 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Vikings (9-11) will now prepare for their bout against Gervais (Gervais, OR). The Cougars go into the 3A-3 PacWest bout with a 7-9 record. In their last bout, Gervais was routed by Blanchet Catholic (Salem, OR), 7-0, in a league bout.
The Crusaders now possess a 2-9 record. They play next when they host Jefferson for a bout on Friday, May 11. Salem Academy will confront a Lions squad coming off a 16-2 league loss to Scio (Scio, OR). The Lions record now stands at 7-6.
Game Summary
The Lady Crusaders fell to Colton today 13 - 3. Sophomore First Baseman Tristan Brabson slugged a deep double and drove in two runs. She also made several plays at first to continue her stellar defensive performance this season. Senior Krista Mulkey pitched very well for the team today and also led the team with three hits. Catcher Amy Pirelli had two hits including a double and threw out a base stealer at second with the aid of a fine tag by Emma Gould. Sophomore Tyler Parson came off the bench to get her second pitch hit single this season.
