January 28, 2017: Belmar, NJ 07719 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the St. Rose Purple Roses (Belmar, NJ) and the visiting Donovan Catholic Griffins (Toms River, NJ), saw St. Rose's basketball squad overcome Donovan Catholic by a tally of 64-48.
With the victory, St. Rose improves its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Purple Roses host Holmdel (Holmdel, NJ) to confront the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 30. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 7-7. Holmdel won 66-49 in their recent league challenge against St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ)
Next up, the Griffins confront the Pinelands Regional Wildcats (Tuckerton, NJ) in a Shore B - South challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Donovan Catholic will attempt to improve on its 9-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 2-16 record after their 53-39 league loss to Lakewood (Lakewood, NJ).
