Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the host Grays Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC), 74-66 in a league bout.

With the victory, Union Pines upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Southern Lee (Sanford, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a 3A Cape Fear Valley bout on Friday, December 16. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Southern Lee won 47-41 in their recent league bout against Westover (Fayetteville, NC)

Next up, the Bears play the Westover Wolverines (Fayetteville, NC) in a 3A Cape Fear Valley bout, on Friday, December 16. Grays Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Wolverines come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 47-41 league loss to Southern Lee (Sanford, NC).
