February 25, 2012: Forney, TX 75126 Spectators at Saturday's non-league battle between the Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) and the host Forney Jackrabbits (Forney, TX), saw Carthage's baseball squad knock off Forney by a count of 6-1.

Carthage (4-0) exploded for six runs in the third inning to defeat Forney(4-1) 6-1. Dayton Russell, Jared Twomey, Clint Cage and Jacob Blissett all doubled in the pivotal third with Cage's double driving in 2. JayDon Day(2-0) who earlier in the week threw a complete game 3 hit shutout against Hallsville threw 4 strong innings for the win. Day scattered 4 hits, walking 1 and striking out 4. Joey Harrison threw the final 3 innings surrendering 2 hits. Harrison also walked 1 and struck out 4. Harrison earned his second save of the young season.
