The Coronado Thunderbirds (El Paso, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Americas Trail Blazers (El Paso, TX), 56-50 in Friday's league test.

The Thunderbirds (18-7) will now prepare for their test against El Dorado (El Paso, TX). The Aztecs go into the 6A Region I District 1 test with a 23-7 record.

The Trail Blazers now own a 19-6 record. They play next when they host El Dorado for a 6A Region I District 1 test on Wednesday, February 11. Americas will encounter a Aztecs squad coming off a 54-34 league win over Franklin (El Paso, TX). The Aztecs record now stands at 23-7.
