September 16, 2006: San Mateo, CA 94401 Serra Padres (San Mateo, CA) followers exited the stadium content Saturday as they observed their football squad crush the host San Mateo Bearcats (San Mateo, CA), 49-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Padres now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gilroy for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 22. Serra will confront a Mustangs squad coming off a 49-0 non-league loss to Oak Grove (San Jose, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-2.
With the defeat, San Mateo moves to 0-3 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Menlo-Atherton (Atherton, CA) to confront the Bears in a Peninsula - Bay challenge on Friday, September 29. The Bears go into the challenge with a record of 3-0. Menlo-Atherton won 42-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Silver Creek (San Jose, CA)
