California High School Baseball - Amador Valley tipped by Monte Vista
March 31, 2010: Pleasanton, CA 94566 The Monte Vista Mustangs the host Amador Valley Dons baseball team by a count of 3-1 in Wednesday's league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Del Campo for a non-league bout on Thursday, April 1. Monte Vista will face a Cougars team coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Desert Oasis (Las Vegas, NV). The Cougars record now stands at 6-2.
Next, the Dons face the Buhach Colony Thunder (Atwater, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, April 7. Amador Valley will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Thunder enter the bout with a 4-10 record after their 4-2 league loss to Golden Valley (Merced, CA).
Game Summary
The Dons were only able to muster 3 hits and score one run despite 13 base-runners in their EBAL opener. Michael Mallory pitcher 7 excellent innings and Nick Piscotty pitched 3 solid innings of relief. The Mustangs scored the winning run in the top of the 9th on a wild pitch and added an insurance run due to a costly mental error. It appeared Amador was going to take the lead in the 6th with help from Monte Vista's 4 walks but Amador's only run scored on Tommy Pluschkell's suicide squeeze.
