The Kirby Cougars basketball team scored 68 points and held the visiting Independence Wildcats to 39 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Monday.

The Cougars now sport a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Durant for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 28. Kirby will meet a Tigers team coming off a 56-43 non-league loss to Senatobia (Senatobia, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 10-3.
