Florida High School Soccer - Newsome knocks off Tampa Bay Tech
December 9, 2008: Lithia, FL 33547 Newsome Wolves (Lithia, FL) fans were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Tampa Bay Tech Titans (Tampa, FL), 4-0 in a league challenge.
Next, the Wolves battle the King Lions (Tampa, FL) in a Class 5A - District 8 challenge, on Friday, December 12. Newsome will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Lions enter the bout with a 4-0 record after their 4-2 league win over Bloomingdale (Valrico, FL).
In their next game, the Titans face the Brandon Eagles (Brandon, FL) in a Class 5A - District 8 bout, on Friday, December 12. Tampa Bay Tech will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Eagles enter the bout with a 1-4 record after their 6-0 league loss to Wharton (Tampa, FL).
First Half
The Wolves came out and possessed very well in the early stages of this game. Tampa Bay Tech had a lot of speed, but did not threaten to score at all in the first half. Newsome broke the ice with a nice goal by Joey Perfetto.
Second Half
Newsome really gained control of this match in the 2nd half. They possessed throughout the 2nd half and their passing had Tampa Bay Tech running all over the field. The goals came quickly and the Wolves were never in jeopardy of losing this match.
