The Hanover Central Wildcats (Cedar Lake, IN) basketball knocked off the host North Newton Spartans (Morocco, IN), 65-50 in Saturday's league test.

The Wildcats (3-5) will now prepare for their test against Andrean (Merrillville, IN). The Fighting 59ers go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Andrean notched a victory over Kankakee Valley (Wheatfield, IN), 60-55, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Washington Township for a non-league test on Saturday, December 27. North Newton will encounter a Senators squad coming off a 53-49 league loss to Westville (Westville, IN). The Senators record now stands at 5-2.
