The DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS) basketball knocked off the host Hernando Tigers (Hernando, MS), 79-59 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Jaguars (21-1) will now prepare for their test against Southaven (Southaven, MS). The Chargers go into the 6A Region 1 test with a 9-11 record. In their last test, Southaven was beaten by Horn Lake (Horn Lake, MS), 75-66, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 8-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Center Hill for a 5A Region 1 test on Friday, January 20. Hernando will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 64-63 league loss to Lake Cormorant (Lake Cormorant, MS). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-16.
