North Carolina High School Basketball - Southwestern Randolph nips Asheboro

February 2, 2016: Asheboro, NC 27203

Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), 36-32 in a league bout.

With the victory, Southwestern Randolph upgrades its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Cougars host Western Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to play the Hornets in a Mid-Piedmont 3A bout on Friday, February 5. The Hornets come into the bout with a record of 5-16. Western Guilford won 54-45 in their recent league bout against North Forsyth (Winston-Salem, NC)

Next up, the Blue Comets play the Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A bout, on Wednesday, February 3. Asheboro will attempt to upgrade on its 13-6 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 54-36 league win over Southern Guilford (Greensboro, NC).
