Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Wheatley Wildcats (Houston, TX) and the visiting Madison Marlins (Houston, TX), saw Wheatley's basketball squad hold off Madison by a score of 76-73.

With the victory, Wheatley improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Worthing (Houston, TX) to battle the Colts in a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Wednesday, January 5. The Colts come into the challenge with a record of 4-9.

Next up, the Marlins battle the Cypress Springs Panthers (Cypress, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 27. Madison will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 10-7 record after their 70-68 non-league win over Klein Forest (Houston, TX).
