California High School Basketball - Archbishop Mitty holds off St. Ignatius
January 30, 2009: San Francisco, CA 94116 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) and the host St. Ignatius Wildcats (San Francisco, CA), saw Archbishop Mitty's basketball squad hold off St. Ignatius by a score of 45-39.
With the victory, Archbishop Mitty improves its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Monarchs host St. Francis (Mountain View, CA) to play the Lancers in a West Catholic challenge on Tuesday, February 3. The Lancers come into the challenge with a record of 5-12. St. Francis won 53-50 in their recent league challenge against Notre Dame (Belmont, CA)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Sacred Heart Cathedral Fightin' Irish (San Francisco, CA) in a West Catholic test, on Tuesday, February 3. St. Ignatius will attempt to advance on its 14-3 season record. The Fightin' Irish go into the test with a 17-1 record after their 61-35 league win over Presentation (San Jose, CA).
