Illinois High School Basketball - Nashville knocked off by Mt. Carmel
February 4, 2017: Mt. Carmel, IL 62863 The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting Nashville Hornets to 44 in the Golden Aces non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Golden Aces now sport a 22-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mt. Vernon for a Big Eight contest on Tuesday, February 7. Mt. Carmel will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 58-55 league win over Princeton (Princeton, IN). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-13.
The Hornets (14-11) will now prepare for their contest against Carterville (Carterville, IL). The Lions enter the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi contest with a 12-10 record. In their last contest, Carterville was outscored by Massac County (Metropolis, IL), 32-31, in a non-league contest.
