Yantis Owls (Yantis, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Como-Pickton Eagles (Como, TX), 48-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Yantis upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Owls host Union Hill (Gilmer, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 1A Region III District 24 bout on Friday, January 15. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 0-5.

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Fruitvale Bobcats (Fruitvale, TX) in a 2A Region II District 14 bout, on Friday, January 15. Como-Pickton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 81-48 non-league win over Hawkins (Hawkins, TX).
