The Gilmer Buckeyes football team (Gilmer, TX), was tipped 43-36 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Jacksonville Indians (Jacksonville, TX)

The Indians (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX). The Wildcats come into the 4A Region II District 14 challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Whitehouse was tipped by Sulphur Springs (Sulphur Springs, TX), 40-39, in a non-league challenge.

The Buckeyes now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Liberty-Eylau for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 17. Gilmer will meet a Leopards team coming off a 36-7 non-league win over Pine Tree (Longview, TX). The Leopards record now stands at 3-0.
