Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Abington holds off Cheltenham
January 31, 2015: Wyncote, PA 19095 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Abington Galloping Ghosts (Abington, PA) and the host Cheltenham Panthers (Wyncote, PA), saw Abington's basketball squad hold off Cheltenham by a tally of 58-52.
With the victory, Abington improves its record to 17-3 on the campaign. The Galloping Ghosts host Council Rock North (Newtown, PA) to confront the Indians in a Suburban One - National challenge on Tuesday, February 3. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 10-3.
Next up, the Panthers confront the Norristown Eagles (Norristown, PA) in a Suburban One - American challenge, on Monday, February 2. Cheltenham will attempt to improve on its 12-5 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 34-28 non-league win over Pennsbury (Fairless Hills, PA).
