Maryland High School Football - Atholton victorious over Centennial
October 14, 2016: Ellicott City, MD 21042 The Atholton Raiders (Columbia, MD) football overcame the host Centennial Eagles (Ellicott City, MD), 21-7 in Friday's league bout.
In their next game, the Raiders face the River Hill Hawks (Clarksville, MD) in a Howard County bout, on Saturday, October 22. Atholton will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Hawks enter the bout with a 3-4 record after their 20-13 league loss to Oakland Mills (Columbia, MD).
The Eagles (1-6) will now prepare for their bout against Reservoir (Fulton, MD). The 'Gators enter the Howard County bout with a 1-6 record. In their last bout, Reservoir thwarted Mt. Hebron (Ellicott City, MD), 38-14, in a league bout.
First Quarter
After spotting Centennial a touchdown early, the Raiders came back to tie the score at 7 on a 24 yard TD pass from Dominic Totaro to Eric Love.
Second Quarter
Despite the fact that Centennial had a significant time of possession advantagem the Raiders took the lead 14-7 on a brilliant play by Jasen Parkins. First he obliterated the punter on a block, Then he ran over and picked up the block and returned it 43 yards untouched for a touchdown.
Third Quarter
The Raiders pushed the advantage to 21-7 on a 49 yard touchdown run by Eric Love.
Fourth Quarter
An even quarter with no scoring. Eric Love had a 57 yard run called back on a holding call.
