Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC), saw Alexander Central's basketball squad hold off St. Stephens by a tally of 50-49.

With the victory, Alexander Central improves its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to play the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 7. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 1-2. South Caldwell won 71-46 in their recent non-league outing against North Gaston (Dallas, NC)

The Indians now hold a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Bunker Hill for a non-league outing on Friday, December 9. St. Stephens will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 61-58 non-league loss to Foard (Newton, NC). The Bears record now stands at 2-3.
