The Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Ashbrook Green Wave (Gastonia, NC), 68-60 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Mavericks (13-4) will now prepare for their test against Vance (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars go into the 4A I-Meck test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, Vance topped Garinger (Charlotte, NC), 67-48, in a non-league test.

The Green Wave now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Point for a 3A Big South test on Friday, January 27. Ashbrook will clash with a Red Raiders squad coming off a 78-75 league loss to Huss (Gastonia, NC). The Red Raiders record now stands at 11-4.
