In Wednesday's league match, the visiting Stone Cougars basketball team scored a tight 58-51 triumph over the Northern Patriots.

In their next game, the Cougars meet the Lackey Chargers (Indian Head, MD) in a Southern Maryland match, on Friday, January 27. Stone will attempt to better on its 11-4 season record. The Chargers enter the match with a 13-2 record after their 57-41 league win over McDonough (Pomfret, MD).

With the defeat, Northern moves to 4-10 on the year. The Patriots travel to Calvert (Prince Frederick, MD) to meet the Cavaliers in a Southern Maryland match on Friday, January 27.
