Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC) and the host Andrew Jackson Volunteers (Kershaw, SC), saw Lower Richland's basketball squad knock off Andrew Jackson by a count of 64-45.

With the victory, Lower Richland upgrades its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Diamond Hornets travel to Crestwood (Sumter, SC) to play the Knights in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 4. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Crestwood lost 69-68 in their recent non-league challenge against Hemingway (Hemingway, SC)

Next up, the Volunteers play the Cheraw Braves (Cheraw, SC) in a AA Region IV challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Andrew Jackson will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Braves come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 63-49 non-league win over Timmonsville (Timmonsville, SC).
