Montwood Rams (El Paso, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Eastwood Troopers (El Paso, TX), 42-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Montwood upgrades its record to 16-6 on the campaign. The Rams travel to El Dorado (El Paso, TX) to play the Aztecs in a 5A Region I District 1 bout on Friday, January 20. The Aztecs come into the bout with a record of 8-9. El Dorado won 49-45 in their recent league bout against Bel Air (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Troopers play the Riverside Rangers (El Paso, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Eastwood will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record. The Rangers come into the bout with a 15-7 record after their 59-40 league win over San Elizario (San Elizario, TX).
