California High School Football - Alpaugh crushed by Kings Christian
September 22, 2018: Alpaugh, CA 93201 Kings Christian Crusaders (Lemoore, CA) fans left the game content Saturday as they saw their football team rout the host Alpaugh Buffaloes (Alpaugh, CA), 60-28 in a league test.
With the triumph, Kings Christian improves its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Orcutt Academy (Orcutt, CA) to confront the Spartans in a Central Sierra (8 Man) test on Friday, September 28. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 4-1. Orcutt Academy won 42-0 in their recent league test against Riverdale Christian (Riverdale, CA)
With the loss, Alpaugh drops to 1-4 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Orcutt Academy (Orcutt, CA) to confront the Spartans in a Central Sierra (8 Man) test on Friday, October 5. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 4-1.
First Quarter
Within the first three plays of the first drive the Crusaders scored with a 35 yard touchdown run from Luke Vickers. The 2 point conversion was ran in by Julien Pierce to make it 8-0. A quick three and out gave the crusaders the ball back and after some more rushing by Vickers and a reception from Julien Pierce, Steven Shuman completes another pass to Julien Pierce for a 35 yard touchdown. Shuman kicks the PAT to put the Crusaders up 15-0. On the Crusaders next drive Shuman threw a pick 6 ran back, but the 2 point conversion was stopped. The quarter ended with the score 15-6 with Crusaders in the lead.
Second Quarter
Rushing touchdowns from Vickers and Pierce followed by PATs kicked by Shuman bring the 2nd quarter score to 29-6 at the half.
Third Quarter
The third quarter brought more Crusader scores. Three rushing touchdowns by Pierce and a receiving touchdown by Caleb Pollock followed by only one completed PAT of the 4 put the Crusaders up to 54 points. The buffalos attempted to fight back, only able to put up 14, leaving the score 54-20 at the end of the third.
Fourth Quarter
The buffalos outscored the Crusaders only in this quarter, with a touchdown and successful 2 point conversion. Another rushing touchdown by Pierce would bring the final score to 60-28 Crusaders on top.
