Washington High School Baseball - Adna loses to Northwest Christian
May 1, 2010: Adna, WA 98522 The Northwest Christian Navigators crushed the host Adna Pirates baseball team by a tally of 15-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Navigators now hold a 12-2 record.
Game Summary
NW Christian took advantage of generous Adna pitching and defensive lapses to post a win. Nick Mailhot threw 3 shut out innings to earn the W. Jordan Potis and Tyler Arnold finished out the shortened game.
Mailhot, the league's top lead off hitter, got the 'Gators offense in gear with a lead off walk after which he stole second. Arnold was walked and Zach Thomas followed with an rbi single to right center. After an infield single by Robbie Groeschell, Potis laid down a squeeze bunt to bring in Arnold. Zach Duncan added a 2 run poke to right field and 2 more runs scored on wild pitches.
After a single run in the 2nd, NW added 6 more in the 3rd. After loading the bases on 2 hit batters and a walk, Arnold brought in 2 runs with a single. After another walk, Groeschell hit is 5th homer of the season. The final 2 runs were scored in the 5th on a Groeschell ground out and a long double to right off the bat of Potis.
