Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Buena Colts (Sierra Vista, AZ) and the host Sahuaro Cougars (Tucson, AZ), saw Buena's basketball squad hold off Sahuaro by a tally of 43-42.

With the victory, Buena improves its record to 18-8 on the campaign. The Colts host Sabino (Tucson, AZ) to play the Sabercats in a II Section I challenge on Wednesday, February 3. The Sabercats come into the challenge with a record of 6-17. Sabino lost 78-65 in their recent league challenge against Nogales (Nogales, AZ)

Next up, the Cougars play the Rincon/University Rangers (Tucson, AZ) in a II Section I challenge, on Tuesday, February 2. Sahuaro will attempt to improve on its 12-10 season record. The Rangers come into the challenge with a 15-10 record after their 81-71 non-league win over Tucson High Magnet School (Tucson, AZ).
