In Friday's league match, the host South Newton Rebels basketball team scored a tight 43-39 triumph over the Tri-County Cavaliers.

With the victory, South Newton upgrades its record to 2-9 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Covenant Christian (DeMotte, IN) to play the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 8. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 3-12. Covenant Christian lost 59-47 in their recent non-league challenge against LaCrosse (LaCrosse, IN)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the West Central Trojans (Francesville, IN) in a Midwest challenge, on Saturday, February 8. Tri-County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record.
