California High School Lacrosse - Agoura overwhelms Newbury Park
April 16, 2010: Newbury Park, CA 91320 The Agoura Chargers lacrosse squad scored 11 points and limited the host Newbury Park Panthers to 7 in the Chargers league victory on Friday.
The Chargers (10-0) will now prepare for their match against Oak Park (Oak Park, CA). The Eagles enter the 101 Coast match with a 6-6 record. In their last match, Oak Park edged Cate (Carpinteria, CA), 10-9, in a non-league match.
The Panthers (6-4) will now prepare for their match against Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA). The Lions enter the 101 Coast contest with a 3-11 record.
Game Summary
Agoura's Chad Goldberg made 8 saves, and frosh Steven Tusing had a game-high 9 ground balls for the Chargers. Jason Carr, Sean Whitney, and Trevor Sampson each posted two goals for Agoura, and Ben Samel added 1 goal and four assists for a game-high 5 points. The Panthers Will Marinelli had another strong performance in goal with an impressive 17 saves, and Zach Garrett added a game-high 4 goals for Newbury.
