New York High School Lacrosse - Patchogue-Medford holds off Longwood
April 18, 2011: Middle Island, NY 11953 The Patchogue-Medford Raiders (Medford, NY) lacrosse tipped the host Longwood Lions (Middle Island, NY), 13-12 in Monday's league outing.
With the triumph, Patchogue-Medford upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Raiders travel to Commack (Commack, NY) to battle the Cougars in a Section 11 I outing on Wednesday, April 27. The Cougars go into the outing with a record of 3-5.
With the defeat, Longwood drops to 1-6 on the season. The Lions travel to North Babylon (North Babylon, NY) to battle the Bulldogs in a Section 11 I outing on Wednesday, April 27. The Bulldogs go into the outing with a record of 4-2.
Game Summary
Patchogue-Medford 13, Longwood 12: Kyle Stockton scored the game-winning goal with 2:20 left for Pat-Med (2-4) in Division I. Pat-Med was down by three with 4:11 to play, but Kevin Gerard won four straight faceoffs and Tyler DeLuca scored twice in a 25 second span to draw the Raiders to within one. Scott Reece scored the equalizer on a feed from Brian Mannion with 2:41 left. DeLuca finished with five goals and two assists and Reece had three goals and two assists. Gerard added 16 groundballs and won 11 faceoffs. Jon Morgan had five goals and one assist. It was a tough loss on our home field.
