The Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME) basketball crushed the visiting Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME), 68-39 in Saturday's league test.

The Shiretowners (16-1) will now prepare for their test against Calais (Calais, ME). The Blue Devils go into the non-league test with a 12-5 record. In their last test, Calais walloped Schenck (East Millinocket, ME), 67-49, in a league test.

The Trojans now own a 12-8 record. They play next when they travel to Ellsworth for a B North test on Wednesday, February 8. Mount Desert Island will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 60-53 league win over John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME). The Eagles record now stands at 10-9.
