North Carolina High School Basketball - Carolina Day holds off Bishop McGuinness
January 19, 2015: Asheville, NC 28803 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Carolina Day Wildcats (Asheville, NC) and the visiting Bishop McGuinness Villains (Kernersville, NC), saw Carolina Day's basketball squad hold off Bishop McGuinness by a tally of 53-47.
With the victory, Carolina Day improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap, GA) to confront the Eagles in a NCISAA Carolinas challenge on Wednesday, February 4. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 17-4.
Next up, the Villains confront the Atkins (Winston-Salem, NC) in a 1A Northwest challenge, on Tuesday, January 20. Bishop McGuinness will attempt to improve on its 10-7 season record. The come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 51-40 league loss to Winston-Salem Prep (Winston-Salem, NC).
