The Bishop O'Connell Knights volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans to 1 in the Knights non-league victory on Thursday.

The Knights now possess a 24-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Our Lady of Good Counsel for a non-league game on Friday, November 5. Bishop O'Connell will encounter a Falcons team coming off a 3-0 league win over St. John's (Washington, DC). The Falcons record now stands at 28-4.

Match Summary

Holy Cross' one hitter offense was not enough to surpass O'Connell's Knights. The Knights shut down the Tartan offense in the first set not in small part to the blocking of middle Keke Richards. The Knights rallied late in the second set to overcome a 23-21 deficit and after dropping the third set, opened up a lead in the fourth that they never relinquished. The Knights advance to the Championship which will be played Friday, November 5 at 7:00pm at Trinity University. KNIGHTS VOLLEYBALL! DIG IT!
