In Friday's league match, the visiting Lanier Poets football squad scored a close 6-3 victory over the Dothan Tigers.

In their next game, the Poets clash with the Park Crossing Thunderbirds (Montgomery, AL) in a 6A Region 2 match, on Friday, October 14. Lanier will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record.

The Tigers now hold a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Park Crossing for a 6A Region 2 game on Saturday, October 8. Dothan will battle a Thunderbirds team coming off a 55-7 league win over Carver (Montgomery, AL). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 6-1.
