South Carolina High School Basketball - Porter-Gaud over St. John's
January 29, 2011: John's Island, SC 29455 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Porter-Gaud Cyclones (Charleston, SC) and the host St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC), saw Porter-Gaud's basketball squad knock off St. John's by a score of 58-39.
With the victory, Porter-Gaud improves its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Cyclones host Pinewood Prep (Summerville, SC) to battle the Panthers in a SCISA AAA Region III challenge on Friday, February 4. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 15-9.
Next up, the Islanders battle the Charleston Math & Science (Charleston, SC) in a A Region VI challenge, on Tuesday, February 1. St. John's will attempt to improve on its 9-11 season record. The come into the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 70-35 league loss to Baptist Hill (Hollywood, SC).
