In Monday's league game, the host Liberty Redhawks baseball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Independence Knights.

The Redhawks (7-5) will now prepare for their game against Lone Star (Frisco, TX). The Rangers go into the 5A Region II District 9 game with a 5-8 record. In their last game, Lone Star was edged by Wakeland (Frisco, TX), 4-2, in a league game.

The Knights (3-7) will now prepare for their game against Little Elm (Little Elm, TX). The Lobos go into the 5A Region II District 9 game with a 6-5 record.
