May 23, 2018: Rimersburg, PA 16248 The Union Knights/Damsels softball team (Rimersburg, PA), was routed 8-2 in Wednesday's non-league test with the visiting West Greene Pioneers (Waynesburg, PA)
Game Summary
West Greene defeated Union 8-2 in the WPIAL Class A semi-finals at Peterswood Park. The win improves West Greene to 18 and 4 on the season, and makes it the 3rd straight season the Lady Pioneers will play for a WPIAL title. Jade Renner picked up her 13th win of the year, striking out 8 with no walks. McKenna Lampe had a hit, stole 2 bases and score twice. Madison Lampe had a HUGE day, going 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, 4 runs scored, 4 RBI's, a walk, and a stolen base. She led the scoring off with a tape-measure solo home run in the bottom of the 1st, and followed that with an equally-long 2-run smash in the 6th inning. She also drew a walk. Madison Renner had 2 hits, including a mammoth 2-run homer in the 3rd inning. She finished 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI's. Sarah Seamans took the loss for Union, striking out 4 and walking 3. She hit a solo home run to tie the game at 1 in the 3rd inning. Shae-Lynn Quinn also hit a solo home run in the 4th for Union.
