Flowers Jaguars (Springdale, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting High Point Eagles (Beltsville, MD), 71-65 in a league bout.

With the win, Flowers upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Jaguars travel to Wilson (Washington, DC) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 12-2.

Next up, the Eagles play the DuVal Tigers (Lanham, MD) in a Prince George's County 4A bout, on Tuesday, January 10. High Point will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 75-49 league loss to Eleanor Roosevelt (Greenbelt, MD).
