May 11, 2012: Redding, CT 06896 The Barlow Falcons softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Notre Dame Catholic Lancers to 0 in the Falcons league triumph on Friday.
With the triumph, Barlow improves its record to 4-13 on the year. The Falcons host Oxford (Oxford, CT) to clash with the Wolverines in a Southwest - Patriot game on Monday, May 14. The Falcons ended their 11 game losing streak with a 13-0 home shutout of the visting Lances of Notre Dame on Friday in Redding. Notre Dame, without their ace Taylor Springer, due to injury, were limited to using field players on the mound and the result was a 3 hit 13 walk effort. Anne Dolan (1-7) notched her first win of the season. Dolan has pitched well enough, time after time, but a combination of season long fielding miscues and blown slaves in relief of her performances, the ace has pitched in bad luck all season long. Dolan yielded only three hits in the shutout, while fanning 3. Junior Devon Delallo came on in relief, and kept the Lancers hitless while notching 2 strike outs.
