California High School Softball - Faith Baptist bounces Coast Union
May 21, 2013: Cambria, CA 93428 Faith Baptist Contenders (Canoga Park, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Coast Union Broncos (Cambria, CA), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.
The Contenders now own a 18-11 record. They take the field next when they host Riverside Christian for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 23. Faith Baptist will face a squad coming off a 10-8 non-league win over Bloomington Christian (Bloomington, CA). The record now stands at 17-4.
With the loss, Coast Union falls to 15-5 on the campaign.
Game Summary
After giving up 3 unearned first inning runs, Faith Baptist came back to take the lead in the 5th inning and went on to win their 2nd round playoff contest 7-3. Amanda Suard was 2-4 with a triple and 4 RBI's, Sarah Suard was 2-3 with a walk 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Kayla Limphailbule went the distance earning her 17th win allowing only 2 hits and striking out 10. The Contenders return home this Thursday with a quarter final contest with Riverside Christian.
