Mississippi High School Basketball - Okolona crushes West Lowndes
January 9, 2018: Okolona, MS 38860 Okolona Chieftains (Okolona, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting West Lowndes Panthers (Columbus, MS), 77-29 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Okolona upgrades its record to 15-1 on the season. The Chieftains host Houlka (Houlka, MS) to play the Wildcats in a 1A Region 4 bout on Friday, January 12. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 16-3. Houlka won 68-55 in their recent non-league bout against Walnut (Walnut, MS)
Next up, the Panthers play the Noxapater Tigers (Noxapater, MS) in a 1A Region 6 bout, on Friday, January 12. West Lowndes will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 51-49 league win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS).
