Washington High School Baseball - Tonasket loses to Okanogan
April 8, 2014: Okanogan, WA 98840 The Okanogan Bulldogs baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Tonasket Tigers to 0 in the Bulldogs league victory on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Cascade (Leavenworth, WA). The Kodiaks go into the 1A Caribou Trail match with a 0-0 record.
The Tigers (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Cashmere (Cashmere, WA). The Bulldogs go into the 1A Caribou Trail match with a 1-1 record.
Game Summary
Okanogan produced 10 walks on 18 total at bats, only struck out once and produced 10 runs off of 1 hit. The Bulldogs were very disciplined at the plate and once walked to a base produce many steals. Clay Ashworth had 2 steals and scored 2 runs while walking twice. Clay took his turn on the pitching mound entering in the 3rd inning with 2 runners on, no outs, and 1 ball in the count. Clay had 3 assists, 1 walk, 4 strike outs, and gave up no hits while facing only 9 batters. Cody Sumner produced the teams lone hit. They were not a lot of strikes thrown so we had to be very selective when at bat. When the Dawgs did hit the ball it was at someone.
