Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sunnyside Blue Devils (Tucson, AZ) and the visiting Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ), saw Sunnyside's basketball squad hold off Mountain Pointe by a count of 76-70.

With the victory, Sunnyside upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Nogales (Nogales, AZ) to play the Apaches in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 13. The Apaches come into the challenge with a record of 2-7. Nogales lost 73-66 in their recent non-league challenge against Tucson High Magnet School (Tucson, AZ)

Next up, the Pride play the Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ) in a 6A Central challenge, on Monday, December 12. Mountain Pointe will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Thunder come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 98-76 non-league loss to Findlay Prep (Henderson, NV).
