The Newton-Conover Red Devils basketball team (Newton, NC), was routed 73-38 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC)

The Vikings now sport a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alleghany for a Mountain Valley 1A/2A battle on Friday, December 16. North Wilkes will battle a Trojans team coming off a 48-41 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 6-0.
