The Hitchcock County Falcons basketball team (Trenton, NE), was nudged 38-34 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves (Maywood, NE)

The Wolves now possess a 17-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Platte for a D2 District 9 battle on Tuesday, February 6. Maywood/Hayes Center will confront a Blue Knights team coming off a 54-43 non-league win over Arthur County (Arthur, NE). The Blue Knights record now stands at 9-7.

The Falcons (14-6) will now prepare for their battle against Arapahoe (Arapahoe, NE). The Warriors come into the D1 District 11 battle with a 2-16 record. In their last battle, Arapahoe was nudged by Alma (Alma, NE), 51-41, in a league battle.
