Homestead Spartans (Fort Wayne, IN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host LaPorte Slicers (LaPorte, IN), 59-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Homestead upgrades its record to 13-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Merrillville (Merrillville, IN) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Sunday, December 24. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 2-12. Merrillville lost 74-27 in their recent non-league bout against East Chicago Central (East Chicago, IN)

Next up, the Slicers play the Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 23. LaPorte will attempt to upgrade on its 11-3 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 67-41 non-league win over Hammond (Hammond, IN).
