Illinois High School Basketball - Chester tops New Athens
January 30, 2016: Chester, IL 62233 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, IL) and the visiting New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL), saw Chester's basketball squad knock off New Athens by a count of 47-34.
With the victory, Chester upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL) to play the in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 4. The come into the challenge with a record of 14-7. Gibault Catholic won 49-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Triad (Troy, IL)
Next up, the Yellow Jackets play the Valmeyer Pirates (Valmeyer, IL) in a Cahokia - Kaskaskia challenge, on Tuesday, February 2. New Athens will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record.
