Charlestown Townies (Charlestown, MA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. John's Prep Eagles (Danvers, MA), 72-56 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Townies face the Whitinsville Christian Crusaders (Whitinsville, MA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, February 5. Charlestown will attempt to move on its 12-1 season record.

With the defeat, St. John's Prep moves to 11-1 on the year. The Eagles travel to Catholic Memorial (West Roxbury, MA) to face the Knights in a Catholic game on Tuesday, February 1. The Knights enter the game with a record of 7-5. Catholic Memorial won 86-68 in their recent league game against Malden Catholic (Malden, MA)
