Game Summary

In their annual Spring Break trip to 7th & Packer to play GAMP, the Swenson Lions took a battle of ebb & flow by exploding for 6 runs in the top of the 8th for the extra inning win 10-4. The Lions sat in morning rush hour traffic and seemed half asleep after spotting GAMP a 1-0 lead after the opening frame. The top of the 2nd, the Lions woke up, scoring 4 runs. That 4-1 lead lasted until the 5th & 6th as GAMP tied it at 4-4. a scoreless 7th for both sides sent the game to the 8th and Swenson tacked on 6 runs. Senior Mike Sawyer picked up the win in relief and went 2-4 from the dish with a double, triple, walk and 2 RBIs. Senior Rolando Bautista ate the middle innings and also had 2 hits including a triple. Junior Marcus Collazo went 3-4 with 2 runs and an RBI, but more importantly made the play of the game by throwing out the would be winning run at home plate in the bottom of the 7th. Soph Anthony Ramirez stayed hot at the plate with an RBI double and Senior Jordan Rouse was 2-2 BB
